Taking things one at a time, I'd say that keeping some white background is interesting. Refreshing.

That's my feeling too. Judit here thought we should have a big green block and we tried it - and it looked crap. This is Judit's idea though for a 'heading'!

Can we go 'live' with this as the front page for the time being?

er.. that's it. We can keep working on the 'beta'' version. It needs the 'start' page redirecting, I think that's all.

If i understand well, we would have as the homepage this more aesthetic page, with the pendulum, and clicking on the new PI logo would direct to the 'old' site, which would keep its old appearance until we can tweak the new css to accomodate (or even transfer in a totally new way) features such as the drop down menus and the side bar?
Back in 2 hours, I'll try to make the change then, if you confirm that I understood well.

Good to see the page 'live' - now the site is entering a new paradigm!
